Chelmsford is a suburban community of approximately 35,000 residents located in Middlesex County near the intersection of Route 3 and Interstate 495 in Middlesex County. It borders Westford, Tyngsboro, Billerica, Carlisle, and the City of Lowell. It is a popular area with home buyers largely due to its convenient location for commuters (with easy access to major highways) and strong school system.

Founded in 1653, Chelmsford was originally a farming community. While much of the old farmland has since been developed, you can still see some of the older homes and historical landmarks sprinkled throughout town.

The northern parts of Chelmsford tend to be more urban and densely populated, and the southern sections more rural. North Chelmsford provides some of it's own municipal services, but is run by the same town government and shares a school system with Chelmsford.
Chelmsford Schools consistently rate very highly across Massachusetts.
